Announcing Our First Ever Recipe Book!

When our founders Krisi & Mike first set about building Bird & Blend back in 2012, one of Krisi’s greatest passions was showcasing the diverse range of flavours and ways that tea can be enjoyed. Krisi sketched 'Spreading Happiness. Reimagining Tea' on the back of a napkin, and the rest is history!

To this day, spreading the word on all the magical things that can be done with tea remains part of our core mission. So, when we were approached by Ebury, part of Penguin Random House (one of the world’s largest publishers!) to create a tea recipe book, we jumped at the opportunity.

Brew, Bake, Sip & Savour explores 60 ways to use tea & matcha in the kitchen, with a recipe for every moment of the day. From breakfast bowls to hearty soups, salad dressings to desserts, along with drinks & cocktails that go beyond the classic cuppa. Each recipe uses tea in innovative ways, using tea concentrates that can easily be made from our tea blends at home, and some even using just a simple spoonful of loose leaf tea.

What's Inside?

We arrived at this curated collection of recipes by pulling together some of the iconic recipes we have brewed up at events and in store over the years, including our famous Festival Chai, Matcha Lemonade & Sore Throat Soother, alongside recipes inspired by ways B&B fans have experimented with tea in their own kitchens, and brand new recipes.

Behind The Scenes...

We worked really closely with the team at Ebury to develop the book, which meant lots of exciting meetings on design, photography, recipe development & more. Our favourite step in that process was the photoshoot where all the stunning images you see in the book were taken, with each recipe being freshly brewed & baked by a professional chef, ready for its close up. Once each dish had been shot, it was time to sip & savour…can’t let it go to waste, after all!
