Gingerbread chai

"SUPER YUMMY with a Rooibos base. It's nice and spicy and in my view can't be over brewed - don't judge me but I do enjoy it with milk :) especially on a chilly winters day. It's also nice iced once its down as a summer cool drink."

Farrell J. (5/5)

Hit of ginger

"After tasting this in a selection box, I had to stock up. I do enjoy a ginger kick and this gave the perfect kick."

Zoe (4/5)

my fav tea <3

"I may have too many teas in my tea-cupboard, but it feels right to have a special tin just for Gingerbread Chai, it's my over-all favorite comfort tea, and is delicious and indulgent at any time of the day or night. ^_^"

Kat C. (5/5)

Please never stop making this chai

"Gingerbread Chai is your guy for being rich spicy and proper comforting without being overly sweet. He packs serious flavour. It’s one of those drinks that feels instantly cosy. I love that I can pick it up in store. Or if I'm not over Brighton way I can grab it as a takeaway from the grab and go cafe at Cuckmere Haven or the new shop in Rye I’m so obsessed with it that I recently smuggled a thermos of it into a hen do because I couldn’t face a whole weekend without it. While everyone else was surviving on prosecco, I was happy & thriving on gingerbread chai like the little tea gremlin I am."

Chai H. (5/5)

Warming and soothing

"I absolutely love gingerbread chai - it is just the right level of spice, I find it very warming and soothing to drink, beautiful flavour. My favourite decaf option from Bird and Blend"

Jenny A. (5/5)

Not enough chai

"They were out of baby spice and apparently I had liked this one before so ordered it but the tea we got was far too much ginger not enough chai. It was overpowering and I haven’t gone back for a third cup (second was to make sure it wasn’t a fluke haha) very surprised and disappointed since I bought the tin"

Zahra G. (1/5)

Very gingery and very yummy.

"Very gingery and very yummy. If you wanted or needed to take the edge off, I have been putting half this and half Roibos breakfast for a more mellow chai taste."

Hannah M. (5/5)

Gorgeous strong chai

"This is a lovely tea either with milk or without milk. I recommend using just a small splash of milk - it really lets the chai flavours come through. The ginger is nice and spicy, this is perfect, really if gingerbread was a drink."

Fern (5/5)

Tasty and Spicy

"This tea is perfectly flavourful and spicy; you can even brew a pot of it a second time, and it still maintains its flavour. I definitely recommend!"

Cora (5/5)

Versatile

"This little beauty is just as nice as a hot tea or as a Cold brew in diet lemonade. It's delicious!"

Q&A

I am going to ordered some tea for a Christmas present, do you sell tea caddies to go with it , I live in Sheffield, Thank you
Hi Madeline! We have a pre-packed caddy of this tea, which is discounted over Christmas! https://www.birdandblendtea.com/products/gingerbread-chai-tea-caddy Anna @ B&B
Hi, I was just wondering if you have the nutritional info for the teas available, pls? Are they like other teas in that they are all negligible calories without milk? Thank you
Hello Andrea - thank you for your questions - you are perfectly correct - they are like all our blends (minus our Sticky Chai's which contain honey) and are not high enough in nutritional value to be counted. Happy sipping! Andi @ B&B
I just bought this tea after sampling it in your shop in Guildford. I’ve just made at home and doesn’t taste as good as it did in the shop. What is the tea to water ratio? I think perhaps I’ve made it too weak?
Hi Hannah, Thanks for getting in touch with a great question! We recommend using 1 heaped teaspoon of loose-leaf tea in your infuser with approx 300- 350ml of water. You can always adjust the amounts and try adding more tea if needed. If you need anymore help with this please get in touch at info@birdandblendtea.com and we'll be happy to help! Happy Sipping, Claire @ B&B
Hi, I found the ginger element quite strong (I think I was expecting more of a sweet gingerbread biscuit taste). What's the best way to soften the ginger spice that hits the back of your throat? Its great when you're feeling a bit of the flu coming, but as a regular drink its a bit too sharp for me.
Hi Ruth, thanks for asking! I love this as a latte. It calms the spices a bit and makes it super cosy! https://www.birdandblendtea.com/blogs/recipes/how-to-make-black-tea-lattes
I absolutely love the taste of this tea, but I don't quite know how to make it the milky masala chai way! Can you please give some instructions on how to make it milk based? I tried brewing in just milk but that came out too weak. Is there a particular ratio of milk to water I should follow? Thanks in advance! :)
Hi Fraces, thanks for asking such a great question! I love to slowly bring mine to a very gentle simmer on the stove over the lowest heat, just in oat milk. You might also like to cold brew it in oat milk for around 8 hours and strain it out. Around 5-6 teaspoons to 750ml is about right for me. Happy Sipping! Ian @ B&B
