"I first came across matcha when I visited Japan many years ago, and I’ve been drinking it ever since. I don’t usually compromise on quality; life is simply too short for poor matcha. I know what good matcha tastes like and, as a non-coffee drinker, I rely on it not only for a physical boost but for that sense of mental clarity and focus too. So when I first came across Bird & Blend, I approached it with a certain amount of reservation. Was this just another brand trying to break into an already crowded matcha market? Still, I decided to give it a go. Well, I’m very happy to say I was proved wrong. In fact, this is genuinely some of the best matcha I’ve tried in the UK. The quality and grading are excellent, the flavour is rich and beautifully balanced, and it delivers exactly the kind of clean, sustained boost I look for. Consider me converted. I’m a believer!"

- Hello Beth, Matcha is made from ground green tea so has quite a concentration of caffeine. 10 x more than a normal Green tea in fact. Andi @ B&B
- Hello! Do you know the approximate amount of caffeine (in mg) per gram of this matcha powder? I found very different estimates online - typically from 19 to 44 mg per gram. (I am pregnant and so only allowed 200mg of caffeine a day and don't want to accidentally exceed my allowance) Thanks, Petra
- Hi Petra, thanks so much for asking! Matcha is a high caffeine tea. We reckon there's around 75mg of caffeine per cup of matcha, you'll around 2g of matcha per mug. We're no medical experts, so I'd make sure to check in with your doctor or midwife! Ian @ B&B
