Hot Honey Chai Cocktail Recipe

Looking for a new way to get your hot honey fix? Hot Honey Chai is taking over with a spicy-sweet kick that’s anything but expected.

This isn't your average, run-of-the-mill chai. We're talking about a delicious, complex blend of rich dark chocolate, warming spices, and that trending spicy honey kick. It's the perfect drink for a warm summer day, a cosy evening, or whenever you need to spice up your routine.

This incredible hot honey chai recipe comes from our tea mixologist Frankie at the Borough Store! Get ready to shake things up!


Ingredients:

  • 150ml Dark Choc Chilli Sticky Chai concentrate
  • A dash of Honey Syrup (or liquid honey)
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
  • Orange rind, for garnish
  • Miniature chilli pepper, for garnish
  • Water or sparkling water, to top

Instructions:

  1. To make your concentrate, put 2 Perfect Tea Spoons of Dark Choc Chilli Sticky Chai into your Brewdini.
  2. Fill your Brewdini with 100ml of boiling water.
  3. Allow it to brew for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Fill a shaker with ice.
  5. Add the Dark Choc Chilli Sticky Chai concentrate, honey syrup, and angostura bitters.
  6. Shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
  7. Strain the mixture into a short glass filled with fresh ice.
  8. Top with water or sparkling water, depending on your preference.
  9. Garnish with a curl of orange rind and a miniature chilli pepper.

Optional Extras:

  • For an even bolder kick, add a chilli salt rim to your glass.
  • Make it truly fiery by adding a pinch of chopped fresh or dried chilli to the shaker when making.
  • Add 25ml whiskey into your shaker to turn it into a Hot Honey Old Fashioned!
