Mince pies are a delightful and festive treat, and a staple of British Christmas time. When they appear on the supermarket shelves it’s usually the first sign that the festive season is approaching, and who can forget the precious childhood memories of putting out the mince pie & carrot for Santa on Christmas Eve.
There’s really nothing like a warm mince pie with a dollop of cream on a chilly winter’s eve, and that warming, magical feeling is exactly what our Mince Pie Matcha will remind you of. This one is a fan favourite for a reason! A beverage fit for St. Nick himself, with notes of freshly rolled pastry, spices & zest that come from the blend of festive cinnamon, ginger & cloves along with the superfood goodness of matcha powder.
Makes: 1 perfect matcha latte
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 Perfect Matcha Spoon of Mince Pie Matcha
- 100ml 80°C water
- A milk of your choice (we recommend oat milk)
- 1 pump of Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup
- Matcha whisk (we recommend the Matcha Latte Magic Whisk, the Bamboo Matcha Whisk or Handheld Milk & Matcha Frother)
- Cinnamon to sprinkle on top
Method 1: Traditional Whisking
- Add your Mince Pie Matcha to a mug or cup. Add a little of the 80°C water and whisk well to get rid of any lumps. If you don’t have a fancy kettle that allows you to heat water to 80°C, just add a splash of cold water before you add the just-boiled water. The best (and the traditional way) of doing this is with a bamboo matcha whisk, or you can use a battery-powered whisk such as our Handheld Milk & Matcha Frother.
- When smooth, add water until half-full. Stir in a few drops of Sweetbird Vanilla Syrup if you’d like.
- Next, gently heat and froth the milk in a saucepan on the hob (if you are using a Handheld Milk & Matcha Frother, you can add the milk directly to the tea and then froth for a creamier taste).
- Add the milk to the tea, stirring as you go and ensuring you get a nice big dollop of frothy milk on top. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon for a final festive flourish!

Here's how to make a velvety Mince Pie Matcha latte using our Matcha Latte Magic Whisk!
- Add 250ml of your chosen milk to your Matcha Latte Magic Whisk & press the power button.
- Sprinkle 1 Perfect Matcha Spoon of Mince Pie Matcha over your milk as it spins in your Magic Whisk. By gently sprinkling the tea powder over the milk as it spins, you can achieve the best results & avoid any clumping.
- After you have sprinkled in your tea powder, you can then add 1 teaspoon of your vanilla syrup (optional).
- Place the lid on top of your machine & watch the magic happen.
- Pour into your favourite mug & enjoy!
