    The history of Sticky Chai

    What Is Sticky Chai?

Sticky Chai is a modern take on traditional Indian masala chai. It combines tea leaves, spices & honey into a thick, sticky blend that's easy to brew & packed with flavour.

    📜 Where It All Started

Masala chai has been enjoyed in India for centuries. It's brewed with black tea, milk, & spices like cardamom and ginger. Sticky Chai, however, is a much more recent invention.

    🌏 A Modern Invention

Sticky Chai emerged in the early 2000s in Australia, where baristas wanted a chai that was more authentic than powders or syrup. Mixing spices & tea with honey created a ready to use blend that locked in flavour and aroma.

🍯 The UK’s First Sticky Chai

Bird & Blend introduced the UK’s first Sticky Chai. Using eight spices & wildflower honey, the recipe quickly became a fan favourite & even won a Great Taste Award!

    Another favourite

"I had the Sticky Chocolate Digestive Chai in a mystery box a while ago and absolutely loved it. . . Chai teas aren't something I would normally go to. I popped into store and tried the Gingerbread chai which was out to sample. Having spoken to the lady in store, I asked which one would be sweeter in taste and she suggested the Banana bread, so I bought a pack. I was not disappointed! I blended it warm, using oat milk. For me, these kind of teas are best enjoyed at bedtime. A cup of comfort. I am also going to try cold brewing this one too."

    A Go-To Comfort!

"One of the first blends I fell in deep love with, the Banana Bread Sticky Chai is well worthwhile. I've tried with both dairy and non-dairy milks and it's been great, topping with cinnamon is a must for me. It definitely hits the mark on the banana bread flavour as someone who loves a baked treat."

    Q&A

Hello, is it possible to cold brew this sticky chai in milk ? For exemple if I use 10g of the S.C with 250ml of milk how long should I leave the cold brew bottle in the fridge to really taste the flavour ? Thank you ! :)
Hi Mathilde - it is indeed! Cold brewed with coconut milk is one of our favourite ways to enjoy sticky chai - we recommend leaving it to brew overnight in the fridge for the best results! Anna @ B&B
Hi, I bought this for my boyfriend and if we use a normal mesh strainer, a lot of leaves are left in the tea. Is that expected or should I be using a different tool? If so which do you recommend?
Hi Emily, thank you so much for getting in touch! This blend has a rooibos base, which has very fine tea leaves! Therefore, we recommend double straining - or alternatively, straining through an infuser with very fine mesh such as our Brewidini! :) Anna @ B&B
Hi, I was wondering about the caffeine in this. Am I right in thinking there is none as it is a roobis tea?
Hi there, Thanks so much for getting in touch! Yes, this is a caffeine free blend. Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions, Claire @ B&B
