Cookie Hojicha Tea Powder

Having tried a few of the Matcha and loved them, this sounded interesting and hoped for similar as mentioned being a lower caffiene alternative to Matcha, but I just can't get there with it - to me it has a slight hint of seaweed which takes away the enjoyment.

Will stick to Matcha's in future!

I am a massive fan of B&B and am so delighted to see them starting to play with hojicha, as it's one of my favourite teas that I stock up in when in Japan! So when I saw this in store today, I plucked it up without a second thought - especially excited as B&B has turned me, a bit of a matcha snob/purist, into someone who delights when they bring out a new flavoured matcha. I anticipated this to be just as good, if not potentially better.

This powder is, very sadly, disappointing. It's not bad, but it's not particularly good either - not on par with its price point when you can get better in Asian supermarkets for less. Drinkable, but really missing the depth of nutty flavour that's often found with hojicha, even in powdered form.

That said, when more hojicha comes out (and I hope it does!) I will be sure to try it in the genuine hope that it's maybe just this one that I don't like. B&B very rarely disappoint, so I'm sure that there'll be more to try in future!
