    The history of Sticky Chai

    ☕ What Is Sticky Chai?

Sticky Chai is a modern take on traditional Indian masala chai. It combines tea leaves, spices & honey into a thick, sticky blend that's easy to brew & packed with flavour.

    📜 Where It All Started

Masala chai has been enjoyed in India for centuries. It's brewed with black tea, milk, & spices like cardamom and ginger. Sticky Chai, however, is a much more recent invention.

    🌏 A Modern Invention

Sticky Chai emerged in the early 2000s in Australia, where baristas wanted a chai that was more authentic than powders or syrup. Mixing spices & tea with honey created a ready to use blend that locked in flavour and aroma.

🍯 The UK’s First Sticky Chai

Bird & Blend introduced the UK’s first Sticky Chai. Using eight spices & wildflower honey, the recipe quickly became a fan favourite & even won a Great Taste Award!

Committed coffee drinker but i love this tea!

"Discovered this tea at the Papworth Wellness Event. The lovely Emily gave me a taste and now I am a tea convert! It has replaced my nightly cocoa as this is caffeine free so can safely drink at night time. After a few messy attempts with a makeshift tea strainer, I discovered I could make it in my cafetiere and it works well! In fact, letting it steep in hot water then adding hot milk and letting it steep further seems to bring out the flavour. Gave some to a friend who loved it so will def be buying more."

    A Great taste

"A tasty cuppa, made with a blend of great flavours, especially the gingerbread, I enjoy drinking sticky chai original, but the sticky chai gingerbread flavour is another level in flavoured tea, it is certainly well worth purchasing, I think it would make a good seasonal drink at Christmas"

    Delicious 😋

"What's not to love, caffeine free gingerbread and chai . My preference is with oat milk. Autumn in a mug! Just wish I hadn't encouraged my daughter to try it as I now have to share."

    — Lorraine M. (5/5)

    To be honest this wasn’t

"To be honest this wasn’t my favourite sticky chai flavour 😔 i found it really strong (I’ve reduced the amount I’m using and reduced the straining time) and not as “chai” tasting"

    — Kanchan T. (3/5)

    Autumn in a cup

"I love how you can really taste the honey and ginger in this one with the sweetness, I love to order one of these while out shopping as the staff are always so lovely in lincoln"

    — Nina (5/5)

    Amazing taste, no caffeine

"I love the taste! It’s my favourite chai! I just wish it had caffeine (i understand why it doesn’t) as my job requires a lot of energy so it would help greatly :)"

    — Cherry (4/5)

    Too spicy for me :(

"Wish it tasted more like a gingerbread biscuit, instead it’s pretty spicy because there’s a lot of black pepper kernels (spice hits the back of your throat)"

    — I (3/5)

Aromatic hug with a little spice.

    "Comforting, soothing drink."

    — Margaret F. (5/5)
